Cooking instructions
Instructions for 2 [for 3] [for 4] portion recipe.
Preheat the oven to 220ºC/ 200ºC (fan)/ gas 7
Peel and finely slice your brown onion[s]

Cut 2 pieces of tin foil approx. the size of A4 paper
Transfer the sliced onion to the middle of the 2 pieces of foil, then sprinkle with 1 tsp [1 1/2 tsp] [2 tsp] sugar and a drizzle of olive oil and give it a good mix up
Top with your hot dog sausage[s]
Loosely scrunch the edges of the foil around the sausages, leaving the top exposed and transfer the parcel[s] to a baking paper-lined baking tray (or 2!)

Cut your potato[es] (skins on) into chips
Add the chips to the other side of the tray[s] with a small drizzle of vegetable oil and your ground smoked paprika and give them a good mix up
Put the tray in the oven for an initial 10 min

While everything is cooking, combine half your mayo (you'll use the rest later!) with your carrot & cabbage slaw mix – this is your creamy slaw
Trim, then slice your spring onion[s] finely

Add a knob of butter to a small heatproof bowl and put it in the microwave for 30 sec or until melted
Once melted, add half your hot pepper sauce (you'll use the rest later!) and give it a good mix up – this is your buffalo sauce

Once everything has had an initial 10 min, remove the tray[s] from the oven and turn over the sausages
Add your halloumi fries to the tray
Return the tray[s] to the oven for 17-20 min or until the fries and bites are golden and crisp and the sausages are cooked through (no pink meat!)

Once everything is ready, slice your hot dog bun[s] down the centre, being careful not to cut all the way through to the other side and open it out like a book
Remove the tray[s] from the oven and top the chips with the bun[s]
Return the tray[s] to the oven for a final 3-4 min or until the buns are warmed through

To build your hot dog, top each bun with a sausage, then the cooked onion and slice each roll into 3, then dollop over your mustard ketchup – these are your hot dog bites
Serve the chips and drizzle over the remaining mayo, remaining hot sauce (can't handle the heat? Go easy!) and sprinkle over the sliced spring onions
Serve the halloumi fries and top with buffalo sauce (not a fan of spice? Just add a little!)
Serve the slaw to the side and dig in!
