Before you begin...

Get all your ingredients and equipment ready

Skim through these steps, then wash your fruit and veg

Note: Equipment and pan sizes vary. Make sure you cook food thoroughly (even if it takes you a little longer than 10 min)

Now, let's get started!

Boil a kettle

Heat a large, wide-based pan (preferably non-stick) with a drizzle of vegetable oil over a high heat

Once hot, add your lean beef mince with a pinch of salt and cook for 1-2 min, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as you go

Meanwhile, add your fine egg noodles to a large bowl, cover them with boiled water until fully submerged and stir for 10 secs until the noodles separate

Set aside to soak for 4 min, or until the noodles have softened, then drain and return them to the bowl

While the noodles are soaking, deseed your pepper[s] (scrape the seeds and pith out with a teaspoon) and cut into thin strips

Add the pepper strips and ginger paste and cook for 3-4 min further or until the beef has started to brown

Once the beef has browned, add your soy sauce and red chilli relish to the pan and cook for a final 2-3 min or until the sauce is sticky and the beef is cooked through (no pink meat!) – this is your sticky ginger lean beef

Drain the softened noodles and add them to the pan

Season with a generous pinch of salt and stir through your toasted sesame oil – this is your sticky ginger & sesame lean beef noodles

Garnish with the toasted sesame seeds
