Cooking instructions

Instructions for 2 [for 3] [for 4] portion recipe.

1.

Preheat the oven to 180°C/ 160°C (fan)/ gas 4

Drain, then pat your king prawns dry with kitchen paper

Cover your king prawns in cling film and bash with a rolling pin until broken up and roughly minced

Step 1
2.

Combine the minced prawns with your mince, ginger & garlic paste and soy sauce

Season with a generous pinch of salt and pepper and give everything a good mix up until thoroughly combined (clean hands are the best way!) – this is your prawn filling

Step 2
3.

Pierce your bao bun packet[s] with a few holes and microwave for 30 secs - 1 min or until softened

Divide the prawn filling evenly between the softened bao buns and smooth the edges with a spoon

Step 3
4.

Combine your toasted sesame seeds with your black sesame seeds on a plate

Press your stuffed bao buns into the sesame seed mix so the seeds stick to the filling – these are your sesame crusted stuffed bao buns

Step 4
5.

Add the sesame crusted stuffed bao buns to a baking paper-lined tray and top with a generous drizzle of vegetable oil

Put the tray in the oven for 15-17 min or until the bao buns are golden and crisp and the prawn stuffing is cooked through (no pink meat!)

Tip: Cooking for 3 or more? Use 2 trays!

Step 5
6.

Combine your slaw mix and mayonnaise in a large bowl with a generous pinch of salt – this is your creamy slaw

Step 6
7.

Combine your red chilli relish and white wine vinegar in a small bowl – this is your sweet chilli sauce

Step 7
8.

Serve your sesame crusted stuffed bao buns with the creamy slaw and sweet chilli sauce to the side

Enjoy!
