10-Min Halloumi Shawarma With Hummus
A posh veggie kebab in ten minutes? Yes please! You'll pan-fry halloumi till golden before serving over a mixed baby leaf salad. With a dollop of homemade hummus to the side, pittas for dipping, and all drizzled with fiery harissa, this tempting takeaway-style favourite is a real winner!

Now, let's get started!
Preheat the oven to 200°C/ 180°C (fan)/ 395°F/ Gas 6
Add the wholemeal pittas to a baking tray with the pumpkin seeds and put the tray in the oven for 6 min or until warmed through

Meanwhile, drain the chickpeas

Peel the garlic
Add the drained chickpeas to a food processor with the tahini and peeled garlic (Don't like raw garlic? Go easy!)
Add the juice of 1/2 [1] lemon, 2 tbsp [4 tbsp] olive oil and 50ml [100ml] cold water
Add a very generous pinch of salt and whizz for 1 min or until smooth – this is your hummus

Meanwhile, heat a large, wide-based pan (preferably non-stick) with a drizzle of vegetable oil over a medium-high heat
Meanwhile, slice the halloumi into 6 [12] slices

Once hot, add the halloumi slices and cook for 1-2 min on each side or until golden

Meanwhile, cut the remaining lemon into wedges

Set the golden halloumi, hummus, baby leaf salad and warmed pittas in the centre of the table, ready to share
Drizzle over the harissa paste (Can't handle the heat? Go easy!), garnish with a wedge of lemon and top with the pumpkin seeds, and let everyone dig in
